Officers of Solon Police Department responded to a complaint of a loud party on 3/17/12 at 11:32 p.m. at 5119 S.O.M. Center Road near Miles Road in Solon. As the officers arrived, they observed several juveniles yelling and running from the residence and into the woods, some running to the rear of the residence. Numerous individuals were apprehended, some aggressively resisting and fighting with officers. The residence was in disarray with substantial evidence of drug and alcohol abuse.
A total of 31 persons (7-16 year olds, 14-17 year olds, 8-18 year olds, 1-19 year old, and 1-20 year old) were charged with crimes ranging from Underage Consumption, Obstructing Official Business, Drug Abuse, and Resisting Arrest. An additional 10 juveniles were referred to the Solon Juvenile Officer for consideration of possible charges.
Of the 41 individuals involved, one 17 year old female was from Lorain, one 17 year old female was from Avon Lake, and one 17 year old female was from Glenwillow; the rest are from Solon.
The host of the party and resident of the home, 18 year old Spencer Wien, was arrested and charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of Minors, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Sales of Liquor to Underage Persons. He was held on a $1000.00 bond.
Donald D. Williams, 20, of Solon was arrested for Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Justice, and Drug Abuse and held on a $750.00 bond. The investigation into the party and others who may have been involved actively continues.
The charges are only allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
